Ford launched the F-150 Raptor inspired by desert racing in 2009, creating an off-road logo. It is designed not only to accelerate on rugged terrain, but also to jump and catch the air. Today, it is reborn with the new third-generation F-150 Raptor, which further enhances the brilliance and precision of Raptor's machinery and technology. "The Raptor was the original desert truck. We just took it to another level," said Ali Jammoul, Ford's high-performance automotive program director. "The new Raptor combines high-speed off-road performance muscles with advanced technology and connectivity in a unique built-in Ford Tough way."

This is good news for the Raptor fans in the Middle East, who have begun to like its unique combination of performance, agility and versatility.

"The Raptor has earned an enviable reputation in the Middle East for its outstanding performance in the desert," said Simon Hood, Ford Truck Brand Manager in the Middle East. "This new Raptor really pushes every aspect of performance to a new level, and we can't wait to let customers discover how good it is for them."

High-performance hardware A high-performance off-road pickup truck is defined by its suspension. The new F-150 Raptor makes its debut with a completely redesigned traveling device. It has been redesigned with a new five-link rear suspension specially developed for Raptor, designed to provide more control and power to the ground, and more confidence in high-speed and rugged terrain.

"The Raptor is rooted in the Baja 1000 racing car, and its suspension improves our capabilities and performance-with a five-link rear setting, the wheel travel is more than any Raptor before it," said Carl Widman, Ford Performance Chief Engineer. "Like a trophy truck, every aspect of the Raptor has been carefully designed to provide precise functions when your feet are flat on the floor, roaring through the desert."

The five-link rear suspension adopts an extra-long trailing arm to better maintain the axle position on rough terrain, and is equipped with Panhard rods and 24-inch coil springs-the longest* in its class. The combination of suspension design and more complex engine management software means that the truck can apply more torque to the rear wheels to achieve faster start, faster acceleration and better throttle response, while providing comfort and stability Performance, handling, control and high-speed traction.

The next-generation FOX™ Live Valve™ internal bypass shock absorber uses the most advanced electronic control technology to provide position-sensitive damping adjustability, which can absorb huge roars and landing sounds. Raptor's largest shock absorber in history is designed to better resist heat build-up and react more quickly to terrain changes, thereby making it more confident during long desert runs. The larger 3.1-inch diameter anodized aluminum shock absorber body is filled with a new low-friction shock absorber fluid, specifically designed to reduce friction loss in the shock absorber to improve off-road and highway comfort. The new electronically controlled base valve has been tested by competition, and the upgraded design can provide up to 450 kg of damping per curve at desert speeds.

The readings from the suspension height sensor and other sensors around the truck independently change the damping rate of each corner 500 times per second, and the response speed of impact is the same as the speed of the human brain processing visual information. The truck responds when the driver even records a change in terrain.

For the first time, Raptor offers 35-inch or 37-inch tires—the largest factory-installed light-duty full-size pickup truck produced. These specially designed BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires provide maximum traction and handling. Using 35-inch tires, the Raptor cleared a 12-inch obstacle with an approach angle of 31 degrees, a maximum departure angle of 23.9 degrees, and a breakthrough angle of 22.7 degrees. The Raptor equipped with 37-inch tires has a running clearance of 13.1 inches, an approach angle of 33.1 degrees, a maximum departure angle of 24.9 degrees, and a breakthrough angle of 24.4 degrees. Desert runners and rock climbers will love the excellent wheel travel of 35-inch tires, with 14 inches on the front wheels and 15 inches on the rear wheels-25% more travel than the first-generation Raptor.

Raptor uses SuperCrew configuration with a wheelbase of 145 inches. It uses a fully boxed high-strength steel frame and a high-strength military-grade aluminum alloy and composite body. More powerful suspension, stronger, taller shock tower and rear control arm mounting points can withstand harsh off-road use.

The new Raptor is equipped with a third-generation twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost® high-output engine that can provide low torque in a critical speed range. It has the most advanced turbocharger and 10.5:1 compression ratio, as well as a new high-power fan built into the cooling system to ensure that the intense off-road race will not end prematurely. With its standard 36-gallon capacity, Raptor expects the EPA to estimate that it can travel more than 800 kilometers with a full tank of gasoline#.

The new three-inch equal-length exhaust system has a patent-pending built-in X tube, a unique "trombone loop" and the first Raptor active valve. The system adopts a real straight-through muffler design to improve sound quality. Customers can configure four sound level modes-quiet, normal, sports and Baja.

The 10-speed automatic gearbox manufactured by Ford is upgraded with the next-generation control device and is bolted to the innovative torque-on-demand transfer case. The standard electronic locking rear differential and the available TORSEN® front limited-slip differential are equipped with a 4:10 final drive ratio. The maximum payload has increased by 90 kg to 635 kg, and the maximum traction has also increased by 90 kg, reaching a conventional traction of more than 3700 kg.

The new F-150 Raptor for off-road or driving technology is the first to introduce a high-tech cockpit, designed to provide an excellent view of comfort and style. A new standard and customizable 12-inch digital instrument cluster has a large on-demand information area with Raptor-specific graphics and animations, off-road data and turn-by-turn navigation. A new customizable 12-inch central screen is standard, allowing car owners to split the screen and control multiple functions at the same time, including navigation, music or truck functions.

The seven selectable driving modes of the terrain management system allow customers to choose the settings that best suit the driving conditions, including slippery, towing/towing, sports, normal, off-road, baja and rock crawling. The driving mode can adjust the steering feel, transfer case behavior, stability control, active valve exhaust, active damping system, throttle mapping and gearbox shift points, as well as the display on the digital instrument panel.

The available 360-degree camera kit provides an in-vehicle view of obstacles around the truck, and the front view provides real-time tire track coverage to dynamically display the path of the front wheel to reduce the need for parking guide observers. A convenient hard button on the dashboard calls the 360-degree view and the rear-view camera.

Standard Trail 1-Pedal Drive** helps to make extreme off-road driving such as rock climbing easier. In harsh off-road conditions, the driver usually has to use two pedals at the same time, and adjust the accelerator and brake at the same time to make the truck move forward. Trail 1-Pedal Drive simplifies all this, combining these operations to activate only the throttle-press to move forward and release the brake. When the driver lifts from the accelerator, the truck applies the brake proportionally.

The F-150 Raptor is also equipped with the standard Trail Control, whose operation is similar to the cruise control used off-road. Drivers only need to select a set speed, and the truck will manage the accelerator and brakes, allowing them to focus on steering in challenging off-road conditions.

Standard SYNC®4 includes more natural voice control and customized messages on demand. Customers can connect their smartphones wirelessly without a USB cable to seamlessly integrate Apple CarPlay™ or Android Auto™ compatibility. The 18-speaker B&O Unleashed sound system provided by Bang & Olufsen provides the original soundtrack for every adventure.

The new interior uses reinforced materials, unique surface treatments and more storage space. The new steering wheel has a laser-etched logo, a center mark on the top and aluminum paddle shifters. A seat with a large cushion can hold the occupant in place, while also providing a more aggressive Recaro® bucket. The doors, instrument panel and center console use standard aluminum or available carbon fiber interior kits. A lockable and foldable rear storage space is provided, and a safe is added under the rear seats to store recovery ropes or high-lift jacks for recycling or repairs when others need help along the way.

The iconic design of the F-150 Raptor is inspired by a rugged, aggressive appearance. The unique front is completely redesigned to accentuate the width of the truck, with a mechanically sturdy appearance, with an electric dome with a black grille and headlights that extend the fender to the fender.

The hood has a new heat extractor and functional side vents on the top rear edge of the fender, all inspired by the air intake of the F-22 Raptor fighter. The aggressive front fender mimics the wind-swept appearance of dust rolling off the top of the tire at high speed. The same concept extends to the rear, with black taillights and usable tailgate decals, creating a visual fender-to-fender width.

A wider front anti-skid plate can provide greater left and right coverage and extend forward protection. The durable steel front and rear bumpers are designed for harsh off-roading. The rear bumper retains a high clearance design, and the dual exhaust pipes are tucked high on the truck.

Available Rigid™ off-road lighting is installed on the front bumper to help the driver illuminate even in the darkest night. Three different 17-inch wheels are available, two of which have a ball lock function-all of which are designed for maximum strength and aesthetics.
