Ford has announced an update to the Transit van series for the upcoming 2021 model year, including several available packages.

Transit’s three new option packages include an updated Transit RV preparation package for profile, a new RV preparation package for vans, and a new adventure preparation package for vans or passenger cars.

The RV preparation package includes adaptive cruise control. Customers can also choose the available new economy-grade 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, which is designed to support the conversion of larger RVs and other high frontal areas.

The RV Prep Package includes driver assistance features, including side sensing systems, adaptive cruise control, and heavy-duty trailer towing products. External improvements include front fog lights. Inside, four-way manual rotation of the driver and passenger seats is standard, as is the eight-speaker audio system.

The Adventure Prep Package bundles campervan options including all-wheel drive, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, 3.73:1 limited-slip differential rear axle, heavy-duty front axle and privacy glass. Driver assistance features include adaptive cruise control, reversing and side sensing systems, and blind spot information systems. Standard technology includes 8 inches. Color touch screen with Sync 3 and dual USB ports, power points, and dual water-absorbing glass pad batteries.

The new package delivery package includes many of the 2021 Transit design improvements to improve access to the cargo compartment. All Transit vans with a payload of 9,500 pounds have replaced the manual parking brakes on the driver's seat floor. Ford said that the GVWR with the electronic parking brake creates a 50% wide passage between the front seats.

Ford says the optional center console with right-side shifter further improves travelability and provides more than 7 inches of additional driver legroom. Overhead shelves are now optional, providing more space when standing. The package delivery package adds a 50/50 hinged rear door, with a wide opening of 253 degrees and full interior lighting. The driver and passenger seats have eliminated the armrests to further improve the cargo passage.

The new Livery Package is suitable for Transit bus XLT, including 10-way power seats, black leather seat surfaces, power sliding side doors, HID headlights, full privacy glass and 16 inches for all passengers. Silver wheel.

The honeycomb mesh grille is standard on all 2021 Transit models. Production began this fall at the Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo, Missouri.
