YOUNGSTOWN – The treasures of Mahoning Avenue will be celebrated at the return of the sixth annual Mahoning Avenue Fall Fest, scheduled for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, between Steel Street and McKinley Avenue in the West Side’s Garden District.

This year’s fest will feature a host of family-friendly activities, including:

Hackett’s Pub and Casa Ramirez will give away Fall Fest 6th Anniversary commemorative pint glasses with a beverage purchase (while supplies last). There will also be a pumpkin patch.

The fall fest’s goal is to demonstrate the vibrancy of the community and try to catalyze more permanent improvements in the future that will support and promote local artists and businesses. The recent investment by Trek Coffee House and Voyager Beverages as well as continued improvements by existing anchors Casa Ramirez and Hackett’s Pub are a direct result of successful past events.

Supporters of the event include the City of Youngstown, 4th Ward Councilman Mike Ray, Garden District Neighborhood Association, Rocky Ridge Neighborhood Association, Paisley House, City of Youngstown Community Police, Casa Ramirez, Hackett’s Pub, Trek Coffee House, Voyager Beverages and Economic Action Group Inc.

Monster Trucks Coming to Covelli

The Pit Pass gets fans in early for the Pit Party where they can walk on the track, see the trucks up close, meet the drivers, get autographs and take photos.

“Our entire crew always looks forward to returning to Youngstown,” said Kelly Hess Goldman, the event promoter. “This year’s event will include a brand-new monster truck, Dozer, never seen before in Youngstown.”

Dozer is a bulldozer-themed monster truck.

The lineup will also include the dump truck-themed Dirt Crew, Tailgator, Buckshot and more.
