Garrison man killed in accident Friday near Plaza | News, Sports, Jobs - Minot Daily News

A 33-year-old Garrison man was killed and two Garrison men who were passengers in his 2007 Freightliner truck were injured when their vehicle was struck by a Ford F350 that failed to yield at the intersection 14 miles south of Plaza shortly after 9 a.m. on Friday morning, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The 36-year-old Ryder woman who was driving the F350 was not injured.

No names were released pending notification of relatives.

According to the Patrol, the Ford F350 was headed north on 61st Avenue NW, approaching the intersection of McLean County Road 2. The female driver failed to yield at the intersection and collided with the westbound Freightliner, which rolled into the northwest ditch. The driver of the Freightliner, who was not wearing his seat belt, was dead at the scene of the accident. The two injured passengers, a 27-year-old Garrison man and a 29-year-old Garrison man, were able to crawl out of the vehicle. Both of the injured passengers had been wearing their seat belts.

The accident is under investigation by the Patrol.
