A driver died Tuesday afternoon after a collision involving three semis on US 54 in Sherman County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), at approximately 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, a 2019 Freightliner truck tractor towing a semi-trailer, driven by Raymond Brahier, 46, of Pleasanton, was traveling southwest behind a 2007 Peterbilt truck tractor towing a semi-trailer, driven by Cesar Garcia-Gorral, 38, of Spearman, on US 54 about four miles northeast of Stratford.

At the same time, a 2014 Freightliner truck tractor towing a semi-trailer, driven by Buster Moody, 53, of Amarillo, was traveling northeast on US 54. The driver of the second semi slowed down to wait on the third semi to travel past, so he could turn south onto County Road 11.

Garcia-Gorral was treated and released on the scene, and Moody was not injured. Both were wearing seat belts, DPS said.

The posted speed limit was 75 mph, and weather was cloudy at the time of the crash with wet road conditions. The crash remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol Troopers.
