What is happening with Darren Ritter in the new season? Here is everything we know so far.

If you are one of those who want to know more about Darren Ritter, then you have reached the right place! We’ve compiled a quick rundown of everything you need to know about the current situations surrounding the character’s arc and plotlines in this new season, which has led to much speculation among the fans.

So you can get a head start and be excited about “What Darren Ritter’s faith is leading up to?” which may include potential spoilers, preparing viewers to know the details before the episodes air on the channel. Here’s everything we know about whether Daniel Kyri is returning as Darren Ritter in the show or not.

Darren Ritter is a firefighter recruit who was assigned to Engine 37 at the start. He was booted off Engine 37 by Lt. Paxson after he froze up on a call and drifted for a time before opting to leave the CFD. However, after speaking with Randall McHolland and accepting an offer from Lt. Christopher Herrmann, he joined Engine 51 at Firehouse 51 and has been there ever since, with the exception of the beginning of Season 8 when he was a temporary replacement for Brian Zvonecek on Truck 81 after Brian was killed in the mattress factory fire.

In the promo for Season 11 Episode 3, Completely Shattered , released on September 29, 2022, it was promised that we would lose a character on the job, and we were on the edge of our seats trying to figure out who that individual could have been. Many fans were quick to notice that Ritter was noticeably absent from the episode 4 pictures and narrative, putting him on the short list of crucial characters who were gravely jeopardized. It made sense because he is well-liked by fans and the rest of the 51, but he isn’t responsible for as many narratives as, say, Kidd or Severide are included in the episodes.

As highlighted by One Chicago Center , he’s on the same tier as characters like Herrmann and Mouch, which many fans can agree with. Characters like him are significant in dramas based on true events. Because of the high-impact, intensive nature of firefighting, we would need to see more firefighters join the teams as others depart, which makes him likable among the fans. The main difference is that Herrmann and Mouch both appeared in promotional pictures for the next show. Contextually, Christian Stolte has stated that Mouch’s birthday would lead to a discussion regarding retiring in season 11, which would not have been possible if he died in episode 3.

Ritter didn’t have any of these narrative safety nets. At least none that the fans had witnessed. Depending on your point of view, Ritter survived Episode 3. He was present when the 51’s response to a fire caused a building to collapse, but it was Gallo who narrowly escaped death. Then, of course, we had to watch as Chief Evan Hawkins perished while attempting to save a guy from the debris. It was a devastating revelation, but one that made sense considering his minor role in the play.
