Mercedes-Benz has certainly put forth their best in the newest iteration of the G 63 AMG 6x6.

Mercedes-Benz is known for luxury, speed, and reliability. The German-based brand has been producing premium vehicles since 1926 and have sold upwards of two million vehicles worldwide. The brand strives for excellence and their slogan is “the best or nothing.”

Mercedes-Benz has certainly put forth their best in the newest iteration of the G 63 AMG 6x6. The stretched six-wheel truck was previously produced from 2013 through 2015 but will see a revival in the model being offered by the end of this year and will keep to the heart of its roots with a powerful engine and more than capable overall design, according to Mercedes.

The tough off-roader with a tank-like appeal will be powerful and capable, but also beautiful despite its ruggedness. The interior of the G 63 AMG 6x6 is particularly classy and luxurious. With an all-new design concept within, including updated technology and upscale touches, the truck’s interior is absolutely gorgeous.

Let’s take a closer look at the stunning interior of the Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6x6!

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class, sometimes referred to as the “G-Wagon,” is a four-wheel drive truck sold originally as an off-road ready military vehicle. Later, the luxury was increased, and the boxy looking truck became popular as a civilian production vehicle.

The 6x6 version of the truck began production in 2013 and was developed as a celebration of the G-Wagon’s thirtieth year anniversary of production. The stretched version came with a six-wheel drive system and portal axles. The additional wheels gave the truck an even more tank-like look.

The newest iteration of the G 63 AMG 6x6 keeps with that look, with three axles and plenty of clearance. With a newly developed portal axle drive, the wheels are lower than usual to help increase the ground clearance by over 1.5 feet. The truck comes in at a total height of just over seven and a half feet and weighs a whopping 8488 lbs.

The G 63 also has independent axle suspension rather than independent wheel suspension, allowing for all axles to work autonomously of one another and give the best possible traction for the vehicle. This unique axle configuration allows for all six wheels to adhere well to nearly any terrain and adjust for optimal off-roading.

The power of the truck comes from an AMG 5.5-liter V8 biturbo engine, according to Mercedes-Benz. The engine is capable of up to just over 560 ft-lbs. of torque. It is paired with a Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic automatic transmission with three modes. The automatic double clutching feature during downshifting works with a cardan shaft to the transfer case to supply power.

The outside of the truck is beautiful in its own right with an AMG “twin blade” radiator grille and trim with integrated LEDs above the windshield as well as a stainless-steel roll bar in the rear. We also know from the specifications that the 6x6 is more than capable of some incredible off-roading feats.

However, with other options such as a heated steering wheel alongside the incredibly classy feel of the dual-tone dashboard and matching interior, the inside of the Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6x6 is absolutely gorgeous.

The newest Mercedes-Benz G 63 6x6 is simply beautifully designed. The interior is classy, with luxury grade leather and individual contrasting top-stitching. The leather is accented further with diamond pattern stitching and is found on not only the seats but also the doors of the truck to provide a sense of comfort and continuity throughout the cabin.

The dashboard shows off the newest technology with new and large instrument gauges as well as a central color display. Easy to read buttons on the control panel make the truck’s controls for heating and air, radio, and other features very user-friendly and intuitive.

All four seats in the truck are individually adjustable and are heated and ventilated (with rapid heating available on the front seats). Additionally, the front seats feature massage abilities in some packages. The rear of the truck includes a special center console between the two back seats as well and there is ample legroom for all.

Some other optional upgrades to the G 63 SUV also allow drivers to sub out the trim to a natural grain wood or swap the steering wheel for a performance version in leather or carbon fiber. For an additional $550, the buyer can also have dealer-installed Nappa leather grab handles in the truck. These packages and upgrades are also likely to be available on the final production version of the 6x6.

The 2023 Mercedes-Benz 6x6 is slated to go into limited production by the end of 2022. To get your hands on one, you will likely need to be quick as historically, Mercedes-Benz has had a strong reception for the G-Class and for the limited 6x6 production runs.

Buyers can also anticipate to pay a pretty penny for the truck, which retails starting at $158,000 for the original AMG G 63 (not 6x6) according to Kelley Blue Book. For the ability and design of the truck overall, though, as well as the stunning interior, it is worth the price.
