Denver – The Colorado Department of Transportation is hosting career fairs over the next couple of months for permanent and temporary full-time and part-time highway maintenance personnel.

A variety of positions are available for hire including:

Permanent positions include full benefits (worth an average of $16,669 per year) and promotional opportunities. CDOT also allows the heavy equipment requirement to be gained by driving a forklift or bus. In addition, certain positions and locations offer a housing stipend. Colorado residency is NOT required for permanent or temporary employees at the time of application. All positions include paid sick leave.

Temporary seasonal positions generally last up to nine months. However, seasonal workers can apply for full-time maintenance positions based on experience gained while in the temporary position.

Positions are available not only in the towns and cities listed below but also in the greater geographic area, including Arvada, Aurora, Black Hawk, Brighton, Castle Rock, Commerce City, Denver, Dillon, Eisenhower Tunnel, Empire, Franktown, Golden, Greenwood Village, Idaho Springs, Kittredge, Littleton, Morrison, Straight Creek, Strasburg and Thornton.

“We’re seeking to fill both permanent and temporary positions in the Denver area and for the I-70 Mountain Corridor,” said CDOT Human Resources Director Kristi Graham-Gitkind. “Career Fair attendees can complete an application with assistance from HR staff. Qualified candidates can then participate in the full hiring process, including an on-site interview and possible conditional job offer for high-quality candidates."
