A man has died after being crushed by a forklift at an industrial site in western Sydney.

The man became trapped under the forklift just after 6:30am on Monday, at the worksite on Charles Street, St Marys.

Three ambulance crews attended and tried to revive the injured man but he died at the scene, a NSW Ambulance spokesperson told AAP.

The man was reportedly in his 30s and working for Custom Denning, a company that builds electrical buses.

SafeWork NSW have been informed and will investigate the incident, a police spokeswoman told AAP.

"We do believe that the family have been advised," she said.
