Chevrolet Silverado 1500's standard cab standard bed option will return in 2022

There is a group of truck fans who like single-cab pickup trucks with the shortest possible beds. The ordinary cab, like Chevrolet's single-cab two-door full-size truck, is an extraordinary sports truck, a muscle truck, or even a simple work truck-if you choose the right one. And, well, provided that Chevrolet even offered it first.

Since the 2019 model year, Chevrolet has not. Now, according to the General Motors Administration, the regular cab, short-bed Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck will return in 2022. This is a big event because not all half-ton truck manufacturers no longer offer single-cabs: Ram (in The latest 1500, at least), Nissan and Toyota do not. During the short man’s rest period, Chevrolet only provided the regular cab Silverado with a long bed. In order to complete the current four Silverado configurations, the double cab is equipped with a standard bed, while the four-door cab is equipped with a short bed or a standard bed.

For some people, a single-row cab truck is a typical pickup truck, with perfect proportions, used for crashes, airbags, burning rubber, or hugging corners. As for the lift-well, the ordinary cab looks silly, but the shorter wheelbase may be good for off-road.

Please note that this stubby Silverado configuration already exists in South America and the Middle East. For example, the latter has obtained RST and Trail Boss regular cabs and standard bed decorations. But in the past few years, it has been the forbidden fruit of Chevrolet Silverados in the United States.

For the updated 2022 Chevrolet Silverado's standard cab and standard bed configuration, there are two things that need to be paid attention to.

First of all, ordinary cabs and standard beds will be used exclusively for work truck (WT) decoration, that is, basic decoration. This is not really devastating news, because the guys in muscle trucks and sports trucks may customize these trucks anyway, so the more basic the decoration, the better. If there are options, many people will choose a real "striptease" truck. WT decoration also means that it won't get the new Silverado interior, which is another benefit for those who choose to personalize their space anyway.

Secondly, the standard bed (79.44 inches) will be the shortest bed in an ordinary cab, but technically speaking, it is not the shortest bed provided by Chevrolet—it is between the short bed (69.92 inches) and the long bed (98.18 inches). between. Therefore, the standard box is the medium-sized bed in Chevrolet's triple choice. Unfortunately, the ordinary cab, the real short-bed Silverado is not an option anywhere.

The refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado comes with a much-needed new interior (on LT interiors and above), with a 12.3-inch fully digital driver information center and (surprisingly, not the size-leading one) 13.4-inch information Entertainment color touch screen. The center console shifter replaces the traditional column shifter used in trucks with bucket seats. High Country acquires GM's latest generation Super Cruise. The new off-road-oriented ZR2 Silverado has joined the lineup. The turbocharged 2.7-liter I-4 received a healthy torque boost (348 lb-ft to 420 lb-ft), and the 3.0-liter Duramax I-6 diesel engine increased its towing capacity by 4,000 pounds, bringing it to 13,300 pounds.

Everyone hailed the return of the de facto GM sports truck, which will be activated by the standard bed of the Chevrolet Silverado standard cab in 2022. Can we suggest that Chevrolet choose a 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V-8, add some retro hints to the 454 SS, and own a modern muscle truck, which might clog the ordering system faster than the Colorado Trail Boss?
