Cadillac Escalade-V is sending a scary message to the Lamborghini Urus.

The quarter-million Lamborghini Urus is the ultimate SUV to take to the racetracks. An SUV with supercar tendencies is often challenged and rarely outperformed. The Lamborghini Urus is possibly one of the coolest vehicles ever produced. It has its flaws, with not so Lambo-ish stance; however, the power and agility it puts forth trumps all the shortcomings.

Its V8 motor is shared with the Audi RSQ8 but has a more hooliganistic character. And this super SUV shouldn't be doing the things that it does! Now the American mogul, Cadillac, is here to make a statement with the 2023 Escalade-V. The newest addition to the Escalade family carries the performance-driven V badge and, as Cadillac claims, is the most powerful three-row SUV out there.

This is the first time that Cadillac has slapped on the famed "V" badge onto an SUV. And they have done everything in their power to make this Caddy one hell of a machine. With all that being said, let’s get into more details and see how these two juggernauts stack up against each other in performance, style, and sheer drama.

Cadillac Escalade-V is sending a scary message to the Lamborghini Urus.

The Cadillac Escalade-V is the first Escalade sporting the V badge, indicating the high-performance character of this vehicle. The Escalade-V utilizes a 6.2-liter V8 engine, which is the very same engine used in the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. The Escalade-V separates itself from the CT5-V Blackwing with the fact that it uses a 2.7-liter supercharger, whereas the sedan has a 1.7-liter one. Using this unit helps the Escalade-V rock a chart-topping 682 HP and 653 lb-ft of torque.

A 10-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are incorporated to carry that mighty power. However, no setting for routing torque solely to the rear axle is available. The Escalade-V features an electronic limited-slip differential that lets the vehicle make traction as efficient as possible. It is estimated that the Escalade-V can push to 60 MPH in less than 4.4 seconds and hit a quarter-mile in 12.7 seconds at 110 MPH.

The Lamborghini Urus sports a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, which puts out a colossal 641 HP. This makes the Urus a tamed humming beast when not cruising and an absolute monster when going full force. The Urus has an impeccable acceleration thanks to the presence of all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Urus is a true menace on the tracks going from 0 to 60 MPH in just 3.1 seconds and passing a quarter-mile in 11.3 seconds while hitting the 121 MPH speed mark. If pushed to the limits, Urus can give you a whopping 190 MPH.

You can easily feel the athleticism and agility of this vehicle behind the wheels, with its responsive steering and steady cornering during high-speed intervals. It has different driving modes and based on what model you select, it will adjust its height ride with the help of air springs present at all four corners. With Urus, it’s not just about speed but also safety. Carbon-ceramic brakes are incorporated to guarantee a safe stop with Urus braking from 70 MPH to stillness in 149 feet.

The Cadillac Escalade-V’s cabin incorporates platinum trim with Zebra Wood décor. A leather finish can be seen in all three rows, and heating and ventilation are available on the massaging front seats. Also, available in the Escalade-V is the signature 38-inch curved OLED screen.

It’s the first curved OLED display in the industry and offers incredible quality as it has twice the pixel density of a 4k TV. A 36-speaker AKG Studio Reference audio system is also standard for Escalade-V, creating an all-around sound experience. There is an optional Super Cruise hands-free driving technology for those willing to go the extra mile to equip their ride to the fullest with a $2500 price tag.

The Lamborghini Urus has a classic Lambo interior design; classy and elegant. The start button located underneath a red flip lid and the shifter resembling a jet’s throttle gives the Urus a plane-esque look. Levers to the left of the shifter allow the user to play with different drive modes and modify performance settings.

On top of being generous with faux-suede and carbon-fiber trim, the Urus’s infotainment system and gauges are as luxury as it gets. Depending on which configuration you go for, Urus’s back area can fit two or three people. Handy door pockets and a container right behind the center stack help signify the cubby storage. Twenty-two cubic feet of cargo space is available for the standard Urus and 20 cubic feet if you opt to get optional rear bucket seats.

Despite all that brawn and performance, you can get more out of the Escalade-V’s interior as it is more spacious and family-friendly. A huge point to consider is the price difference. The Lamborghini Urus starts at $229,495, which is a lot higher than the Escalade-V’s starting price of 149,990 bucks.

Challenging the Lamborghini Urus is not an easy task at all, knowing that it’s the touchstone for high-performance SUVs. Yet, Cadillac claims the Escalade-V to be the most powerful SUV in the market, putting out crazy numbers. However, the Urus still beats this giant Caddy on the track as it is hardwired to do so.

So, the choice is yours. Want a cozy three-row Caddy that can do more than launch controls?! Or An Italian hooligan the size of a boat?!
