Product recall for Husqvarna Robotic Lawnmower 435X and 535 models presenting a risk of fire, launched October 2021.
Product: Husqvarna Robotic Lawnmower 435X and 535
Hazard: The product presents a risk of fire due to potential stressing of the batteries when charging.
Corrective action: Models recalled from end users in October 2021.
The product presents a risk of fire as a result of the charging pattern, ‘stressing’ the batteries to unusual levels of degradation. It has been identified that there have been 5 reported incidents where lawnmowers have caught fire as a result of when the battery was being charged.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
The product has been recalled from end users.
The manufacturer is contacting product owners directly to arrange to replace the battery through their network of dealerships. In addition, the manufacturer is resolving the issue of battery degradation and prolonging the battery lifetime through two mandatory software updates for the affected models.
