The two coolest features in the 2022 Genesis GV70 involve seats

The function of the car does not often make me scream with joy, and then ran to show everyone my eyes. But the 2022 Genesis GV70's posture control and massage functions do exactly that.

As most people do, I have forgotten some of the minor lessons in my driver training day-one of the important lessons is the ideal seat position. I used to adjust my seat very carefully so that when I stretch my arms, my steering wheel will hit the crease of my wrist so that my legs are at the right angle. I really never let anyone drive my Mazda 2-including a certified racer who once sat in my passenger seat-because I firmly refuse anyone to mess with my seat position.

Then I got the 1996 large Suburban, and everything started to fall apart. I was sitting on that truck very close to the steering wheel because it was the only way I could see the dashboard and the fixed pedals.

Unfortunately, I now want to sit near the steering wheel of each car because it has become muscle memory. Because of it, my body usually feels pain after long-distance driving.

Therefore, when I heard that the 2022 Genesis GV70 has both posture control settings and anti-fatigue massage options, I was ecstatic. Except, during the gathering of women car writers in Los Angeles this year, no one had driven this car before me.

Clean up your old things and get a compact, easy-to-clean 12V handheld vacuum cleaner with a 16' power cord and plenty of accessories.

To access the posture control, you must dig into the "Settings" menu and find the "Seat" setting. I thought this option would be embedded elsewhere, such as in the comfort setting, but I was wrong.

Anyway: navigate to the seat settings. Select "Smart Posture Care". It will ask you to provide detailed information about yourself that you might not want to be honest, including height, weight, and inseams. I assure you that you will want to be honest.

(If you don’t know your inseams, that’s okay. Add your height and weight, and it will generate a set of viable inseams for you to choose from. I don’t know what my inseams are, but I choose The most sensible range is accurate for my short self.)

After all this is done, let the posture analysis work. If you are like me, then posture analysis will say that you are doing a terrible sitting. Fortunately, it also provides options to adjust the posture. Choose it and let it do its thing. It will change the height of your seat, the distance from the steering wheel and the angle of your back to keep you in shape.

When I first thought about this, I immediately ran to grab one of my writer colleagues. I let her sit in the front seat, and I said, "Try this." She was as impressed as I was. Then we tried different heights and weights to see what the sitting posture of a 6'6" tall person would look like. Remember to also adjust your mirror.

It is wild. After I adjusted my seat, I went for a drive and was surprised to find that I felt more comfortable when I was not very crowded behind the steering wheel.

This brings me to my next favorite feature of Genesis GV70: anti-fatigue massage.

Most luxury cars worthy of the name provide some kind of massage function for the driver's seat, which is called the Ergo-Motion seat. I will skip all marketing talks related to the way Genesis describes the seat, saying that it is essentially a massage seat designed to move your body in a very specific way to ease long driving Discomfort at the time.

Yes, most massage chairs claim to be similar. But with Genesis, you can actually feel it. Ergo-Motion massage targets your pelvis and lower back, rotating and adjusting them in a way that may make you feel better during long-distance driving. You can choose the intensity and length of time you want to experience the massage, and you can turn on the heated or ventilated seats to increase comfort. These settings will be saved in the infotainment screen; whenever you want to use the massage function, just press the button on the side of the seat.

I didn't have a chance to try it on the road, but when I drove the GV70, I had been on the road for a week, carrying a heavy backpack, jumping in and out of countless cars. I am in pain, and the massage just hits where I need it. It felt so good that after I closed the zipper that day, I sneaked into the parking lot in my pajamas to eat fried dough sticks to make the massage function work well. I can tell you that I didn't feel that way about any Mercedes or BMW I drove that week.

I will conduct a full review of the Genesis GV70 later this week, including my impressions of the test drive itself, but I have to say-the driving experience lives up to the hype of its comfortable seats.
